WISER’s SIMS Software is Essential to Daily Operations
WISER Highlights Fall 2021
Need to convert video? Pull the handbrake!
In the last few years, the quality and amount of video that a simulation program can generate has increased to levels unimaginable a few years ago. Videos from AV Systems, GoPros, Mobile Phones, Zoom and Teams have become a vital part of our simulation efforts.

As you can imagine, running dozens of classes a week at your sim center can be stressful and a logistics nightmare.
Now add 11 other simulation centers and you have WISER. In addition to the WISER main simulation center, WISER now operates 11 additional simulation centers throughout UPMC.
The Operations Team at WISER relies heavily on the SIMS software calendar system to assure complete support for these programs both at WISER and satellite centers. The color coding of courses at satellite sites allows for easy identification by the simulation specialist to access set up documents, equipment lists, and general support comments to assure the equipment, rooms and facility is ready. In addition, course material can be displayed, and SIMS allows a view of rosters and completion of assignments which is critical to the course operations.
SIMS also has a “Sign in Feature” where you can set up any PC, Mac, Ipad, etc.. as a “Sign in Computer” and learners can sign in when they arrive. This allows for tracking of attendance, but also captures utilization of the center for administrative use as well.
The SIMS software is relied on heavily by the WISER operations team for the following: Equipment and supply allocation, preparation for upcoming classes, set up and support of upcoming classes, display of curriculum, and tracking of attendance.
