Simulation Information Management (SIMS)- Let SIMS Manage Your Center
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the initial launch of Simulation Information Management (SIMS) – it’s hard to believe that SIMS already has two decades of user experience and feedback behind it! Roughly 15 years ago, SIMS 2.0 was released and expanded its reach beyond WISER to include Sentara, The Gordon Center, Johns Hopkins, Kaiser Permanente, MD Anderson, Medisys, Simtiki, and UCLA (just to name a few). We are pleased that SIMS is able to help centers reduce costs and ease the administrative burden of running a healthcare simulation center by streamlining the process into a one-stop simulation support system.
Over the years, we incorporated feedback from all of our clients to improve their experience, but realized that it was time to completely redesign the underlying database (including the programming language, the entire codebase, and frameworks) – SIMS 3.0 is cleaner, more user-friendly, and affords greater flexibility and customization! Key features of SIMS provide your center with a robust calendar and scheduling system, unparalleled potential with curriculum delivery, and vast data and reporting capabilities.
Most importantly, SIMS 3.0 is all-inclusive – you do not need to hobble together separate programs or applications, nor will you need to cull through multiple inboxes to find an email – all the necessary tools are contained within SIMS. From available resources, to curriculum accessibility, scenario and set-up documentation for operations specialists, as well as all communications … you never have to leave SIMS to access any of this information! Additionally, you can create templates for courses that repeat and can access archived courses for reference or to reuse. All of this saves the center time and assures that resources are available.
Another customizable feature is that there are dozens of potential permissions that can be granted in SIMS 3.0 – you can restrict or grant access based upon roles and needs of the users, from site to course to a specific event.
SIMS 3.0 is also mobile-friendly – creating an easy to operate and aesthetically appealing experience regardless of whether you are viewing it on your phone or on a tablet.
Interest in SIMS 3.0 is already high, and we are hopeful that SIMS 3.0 will allow us to expand internationally (as we already have received queries from countries from all around the world).
