Our team at WISER is growing with the addition of our newest simulation specialist, Katherine Mozelewski! With prior experience supporting simulation-based training at Ohio State University, she brings a unique set of knowledge and skills to her role here. Please join us in welcoming her to the WISER family!
Additionally, members of our administration team have been working diligently alongside WISER’s internal marketing team to aid in the promotion of our upcoming Improving Simulation Instructional Methods (iSIM) course, a two-day training program designed to teach all the foundational knowledge needed to develop and deploy effective simulation-based training. Our team is also helping to share the new updates and features coming to our Simulation Information Management System (SIMS), an all in-one scheduling, data reporting, and learning management system created by simulationists at WISER for simulationists around the world!
We also want to share Dr. Suwattana Klanarong’s yearlong fellowship at WISER has come to end, but we wish her well on her return to Buddhachinaraji Hospital in Phitsanulok, Thailand! During her time with us, Dr. Klanarong played an instrumental role in delivering high quality simulation-based education and in-situ training efforts, while working alongside our leadership team to support simulation center growth and management. These experiences and her dedication to simulation were instrumental in her achievement of becoming a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH)! We are excited to see all that Dr. Klanarong accomplishes upon her return home.
We are still accepting applications to our SSH Accredited Fellowship and Visiting Scholars Program! With flexible timeframes ranging from a few weeks to yearlong stays, this program is designed for individuals wishing to advance their knowledge and skills in the field of simulation. Fellows and visiting scholars have the opportunity to observe and support over 500 courses we offer across the health system, receive hands-on training from Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialists (CHSOS), and work in tandem with our leadership team to learn best practices for simulation center management. Depending on the length of stay, participants are also able to perform meaningful research for publication by utilizing experts in healthcare simulation and the resources offered at both the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC!
