The administrative team at WISER is excited to share how our SSH-accredited Fellowship and Visiting Scholars programs bloomed! Over the summer, we welcomed two new fellows to our program. Visiting us from Thailand, Dr. Suwattana Klanarong will work alongside WISER experts to learn more about developing and managing simulation-based healthcare programs over her yearlong stay. Dr. Advait Kothare, from Canada, will study at WISER for the next two years while also working as an emergency medicine physician at UPMC Shadyside. Both Dr. Kothare and Dr. Klanarong are accomplished additions to our WISER team, and we look forward to their continual growth as they move through the program.

We also want to congratulate one of our other fellows, Dr. Hafizah Abdul-Salim, on passing the Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) exam! As a CHSE, Dr. Salim demonstrates her dedication to improving healthcare simulation education, and we are excited for all her future success! It is part of WISER’s mission to advance the next generation of healthcare educators and simulationists, which is why our Fellowship Program is customizable to fit the goals and objectives of every individual. WISER is also in the process of opening our newest satellite center at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine! Not only does the opening of this center necessitate a new Administrative Assistant for our administrative team, but this space provides us and users of WISER much needed room for growth! Packed with a variety of rooms ranging from general skills labs to ICUs, our new satellite center brings the latest technology and quality simulation-based education to the University of Pittsburgh medical students!
