After a year of hard work and dedication, Thanat Tangpaisarn’s fellowship at WISER is sadly coming to an end! Joining us last April, Thanat has worked tirelessly to become a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE), and to develop the essential knowledge needed to establish a simulation center. Working closely with WISER leadership and experts in the field of healthcare simulation, he has completed multiple research projects and has earned the 2023 Research Forum Best Overall Abstract, awarded by the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is currently writing, “Introduction to Healthcare Simulation: A practical guide to effective teaching,” to help those interested in simulation education learn key concepts, like scenario design, learning theories, and debriefing. Thanat has been a valuable asset to the WISER team, and we wish him well as he returns to Srinagarind Hospital at Khon Kaen University!
Fellows and visiting scholars at WISER have a unique opportunity to observe some of the 500 classes found in our course catalogue, participate in leadership meetings, and work alongside experts to hone their skills and abilities running simulation scenarios. Our SSH accredited Fellowship Program accepts simulationists from all over the world, creating leaders in the field across the globe. Through the teaching and learning process established at WISER, Fellows advance their use of healthcare simulation and education to improve patient safety, enhance education programs, engage in mentorship, understand systems design, and conduct meaningful research.
