Many people associate WISER with our primary simulation center located in the heart of the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC campuses. A less known fact is that WISER also maintains 8 additional satellite center locations spread throughout the UPMC Health System across the Pittsburgh region.

These centers allow WISER to assist in the development and deployment of various training programs that address the most prominent patient safety, training, and efficiency needs today. Various WISER teams interact with our satellite centers to assure their success and include our Administrative, Educational Development, Information Technology, Research, and Operations teams. With satellite centers, WISER can assist in the development of programs, deployment of programs, collection of data, and reporting of results.

Each year, WISER satellites run hundreds of programs contributing to WISER’s mission of patient safety and training. Code Team Training, Sepsis Response and Treatment, Central Venous Cannulation Training, The First 5 Minutes, and our Mock Code Program are some of our most renowned offerings. Our support of these system safety initiatives demonstrates the intrinsic value of simulation.

Courtesy of our Satellite Center successes and rising demand for simulation, WISER looks forward to increasing the number of our Satellites Centers in 2021. WISER greatly values the ability to offer direct support to additional hospitals through expanded integration into the UPMC system.
