I hope this issue of the newsletter finds you well. This month, during Healthcare Simulation Week there was again a fervent excitement that hopefully reignited passion about the essential need for simulation training and health care.
From WISER we were able provide daily live broadcasts on Facebook and YouTube that highlighted a different segment of our simulation work. If you didn’t get a chance to see us live, please look on our Facebook or YouTube channels to review those sessions. Thank you for all the kind emails and comments that we have received on the productions.
As we continue to navigate the pandemic and patients are coming back to the hospitals for care, it has never been clearer that the role of simulation is essential for healthcare. As leaders we need to find ways to continue to conduct our operations and simulation training that keeps both our patients and our staff safe. It should never occur that patients receive care by people who were denied high-quality training that includes simulation.
So please join with us to share your ideas, thoughts, and changes to existing paradigms to help the global community of simulation with this new frontier in healthcare education that has been thrust upon us. As a simulation community, we owe it to our patients. We cannot just sit back and wait for this all to be over as we have spent two decades of proving that simulation is integral to the fabric of healthcare. This is not the time to sit on the sidelines and pretend that web cam education replaces the impact of high quality, in-person, simulation efforts!
