After spending three months in our Visiting Scholars Program, Dr. LuHong Cong takes home with her a commitment to develop and promote simulation education in her home institution of China-Japan Friendship Hospital.  During her studies at WISER, Dr. Cong participated in several course observations, designed and ran scenarios, learned how to debrief and participated in our Visiting Scholars Journal Club furthering her level of academic knowledge.

Dr. Cong is a physician in Emergency Medicine with specialties in medical education research, simulation teaching and management, and PCCM fellowship training.  Like all our Visiting Scholars, Dr. Cong had specific projects and goals in mind when starting her Preceptorship in January.  Her project goals included: improving her theoretical level of simulation teaching, improving the curriculum development process for simulation teaching, understand the ins and outs of how a simulation center works, and making new relationships with fellow Visiting Scholars and WISER staff to increase her communication skills.

Once arriving back to China, Dr. Cong wants to improve on her practice of teaching medical education at a higher level.  Her future also includes applying the best practices she has learned through course observations, hands-on scenario designs and testing, debriefing exercises as well as open dialogue with WISER staff on future academic endeavors.

We wish Dr. Cong all the best with her future goals and aspirations and we look forward to hearing on her progress in the future.
