Every two seconds, someone needs blood. It takes just an hour to help save three lives. With the help of the Central Blood Bank, WISER hosted their first blood drive on Friday, January 20th. The Central Blood Bank serves the transfusion needs of not only local Pittsburgh hospitals, but also throughout western Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and eastern Ohio.* WISER staff was happy to not only coordinate and execute this drive, but also participate in it by donating blood. Staff, instructors, students and individuals in the community stopped by the blood drive to donate. WISER is hoping to make this an annual event.
