Recently Dr. Rick Henker, Professor from the University and Pittsburgh School of Nursing and WISER Instructor, and former WISER fellow, Dr. Hiroko Iwashita Henker, traveled to Cambodia to provide a class on Crisis Team Management to the staff at Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC) in Siem Reap.  This is the third Crisis Team Management course provided at AHC by Dr. Henker and his team.  The course was originally developed and taught by Dr. Tachawann Jirativanont, Dr. Hiroko Henker and Dr. Rick Henker for a train the trainer course at Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok in August of 2014.  Dr. Jirativanont, an anesthesiologist at Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok is also a former WISER fellow.

State of the art simulation training has been provided to 54 nurses and physicians at AHC between three classes since March of 2015.  The classes include didactic, hands on, and debriefing sessions for all participants, using the latest educational techniques and technology. The classes were extremely well received. This has been an ongoing project that Tach, Hiroko and Rick have enjoyed a great deal.  This course in October of 2016 included an instructor trainer course for six physicians and nurses.  Another class is planned for March of 2017. Our team looks forward to continuing this work at AHC in the future!!
