Congratulations to Dr. Charles Lin, MD, MSc, who received a Beckwith Institute Frontline Innovation Grant for his project “Development of MediSimScale: An Innovative and Structured Training Toolkit for Developing, Assessing, and Scaling Multidisciplinary Simulation Training Workshops Across UPMC”! Collaborators on this project include WISER’s own Dr. John O’Donnell, DrPH, CRNA, and Dr. Paul Phrampus, MD, MBA. The project was also made possible by additional funding through a Society for Simulation in Healthcare Early Career Grant, and support from the Passavant Hospital Foundation, the Peter M. Winter Institute for Simulation, Education, and Research (WISER), and the Department of Nurse Anesthesia in the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing.
The project will begin with a “Train the Trainer Day” with UPMC Presbyterian, Shadyside, Magee-Womens, Mercy, St. Margaret, and East hospitals, and continue with what Dr. Lin sees as “as a transformative resource, enabling educators to extend their simulation programs beyond individual institutions.”
