The WISER team is growing! In the past few months, we have had the pleasure of welcoming several new staff members to our team. WISER strives to maintain the highest level of support across our many courses and satellite centers. To help alleviate these growing demands, WISER is excited to introduce our most recent administrative and IT hires. Emily Kane and Taylor Ray-Jetter have joined our team as Administrative Assistants, and Thomas Lalor is currently our new Director of Administration. We’ve also expanded our IT team with the introduction of Loyal Houston as our newest PC Consultant!
Thomas Lalor started his career in the United States Navy Submarine Force, where he spent 13 years. Upon leaving Active Duty, he arrived home and came to UPMC to work at the Wolff Center as an Administrative Liaison and Executive Assistant. Now currently serving as the WISER Center Director of Administration, he manages the Admin Department for WISER Center Headquarters and Satellite locations. Some of his hobbies outside of work include: Musician – Plays the Piano, Outdoorsman, and currently serves in the United States Naval Reserves.
Loyal Houston comes to WISER after 4 years in the US Army as a Network Administrator and Radio Operator at Fort Liberty (formerly Ft. Bragg) in North Carolina. He will be joining WISER as an IT specialist and will assist with creation and maintenance of the IT infrastructure at WISER and our satellite centers. As WISER expands into the UPMC Schools of Nursing in the coming academic year, his outstanding skillset will be vital in continuing WISER’s high level of quality in educating current and future clinicians.
When asked what his favorite part of his time in the Army was, Loyal responded, “Jumping out of planes!” He has over 20 jumps in his career and is looking forward to more as an Army Reservist. We are excited to have Loyal as part of our team and looking forward to how he can help WISER further its mission of improving healthcare throughout UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh.
Emily Kane is a December 2018 graduate of Point Park University with a bachelors in screenwriting and a minor in marketing. She has worked in various marketing positions and even took part in the Disney College Program before joining UPMC. She is the mother of two beautiful children (cats) and loves reading, writing, and watching movies in her free time.
Taylor Ray-Jetter came to WISER after leaving Penn Hill School District, where she worked as the Administrative Assistant for the middle school. She is a Pittsburgh native and mother to 3 growing boys, Curtis, Cornell and Cashmere! In her free time, Taylor enjoys reading, writing fiction, and she writes and sings R&B music. She is excited to be a part of the WISER family, and we are excited to welcome her!
